For most of our sites (unless you are told differently) to access your email online:

http://mail.yourdomainname.com

Username: myname@yourdomainname.com (enter your email address)

Password: (Whatever you have chosen)

The rest is up to you.

Due to the new spam filtering recently installed in the Email system - it can take a few hours for 'Untrusted' emails to arrive in your mail box. Untrusted simply means from domains that have not been cleared by you in advance. You will get them but the time delay can be annoying. To get around this for friendly email you need to customize your Spam Filtering in your Smarter Mail settings:

Go to: http:mail.yourdomainname.com and log in.

After you log in online you will see 'Settings' at the top.

Then on the left you will see 'Filtering'. Expand that and click on 'Spam Filtering'. From there you can put in specific domains or emails. It's easier and quicker to put in a domain and all emails from that domain will not be filtered.

    Save your settings

That's it. Now test a few emails to see if it works.

Common settings you will need to apply to get your Outlook working correctly for most of our normal hosting environments:

Open Tools-->Accounts

Your settings should be:

POP3: mail.yourdomainname.com

SMTP: mail.yourdomainname.com

User Name: joe@yourdomainame.com (Your full email address)

PW: (Your Password Here)

If your Sending fails it may be because you are using Charter Cable or another provider that blocks you from sending email through their port. To get around this:

ACCOUNT SETTINGS:

Click 'More Settings--->Outgoing Server' check 'My outging server (SMTP) requires authentication' AND 'Use Same Settings as my incoming server'

Advanced Tab: Change the Outgoing server (SMTP) to 825

Click OK and test things.
